Skin Regimen/Lx & my thoughts
Hi, I’m Lexie. I’ve worked in the beauty industry for 15 years and have been a beauty enthusiast since I was five years old. Whether it was watching my mother apply her makeup or my grandmother layer on her lotions and potions, it always felt nothing short of magical to me.
My obsession only grew from there—attending Delmar College, then Artist Within, and fast forward to today, I’ve been running House of Toli salon and spa since 2015. I’m still just as invested in this industry as ever.
Anyway, enough about me. This blog is about skin care.
About two years ago, I decided to expand our spa services, and part of that meant bringing in a line that felt more aligned with the younger generation. By that, I mean something minimal yet impactful. Skin Regimen/Lx is exactly that—not to mention, the packaging is beautiful.
Since this line isn’t as mainstream as others like Drunk Elephant or The Ordinary, I really took the time to do my research. Here are a few things I learned. First, their simple three-step system—something many of us were introduced to thanks to Clinique. This is one of the things I love most about it. I don’t know about you, but I’m in my minimalist era, and this is exactly what I want from a brand: Cleanser, serum, moisturizer – done.
Another thing I appreciate is the science behind the brand. They’re not focused on pushing endless ads or flooding the market with products just to empty our pockets. Instead, they focus on perfecting their formulas.
Now, my holy grail product. This one has truly changed my life. I’m an acne-prone girly and, to be honest, a bit of a stressed-out person as well. The Detox Cleanser is the only cleansing product they offer—and honestly, it’s the only one you need.
Let’s start with the scent. It’s the most grounding fragrance I’ve ever experienced, and after 15 years in the spa industry, that’s saying a lot. I use it morning and night, and every time I do, I feel calm and relaxed. It sets the tone for my day and helps me unwind before bed.
As for the “detox” aspect—it really delivers. I tend to break out around my chin, but since using this cleanser, I’ve experienced less than half of my usual breakouts. In fact, as I’m writing this, I’m struggling to remember the last time I had one. It leaves my skin feeling clean, not tight, and removes all my makeup without leaving anything behind—just healthy, fresh skin.
My only complaint is, ironically, the packaging. While it’s beautiful, it comes in a metal tube, which makes it difficult to squeeze out the last bit of product. And trust me, I’ve gone through at least five tubes at this point.
It’s been about a year and a half since I introduced Skin Regimen/Lx into our spa, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Every product is thoughtfully designed and works beautifully with my skin. The tools have also been a game-changer for our business.
Do yourself a favour—next time you’re in the area, stop by the salon to experience this product for yourself, or treat yourself to a facial. I promise you won’t regret it.
